less pain. More movement.

Clinical & Sports massage

Clinical massage is a fusion of advanced soft tissue techniques and traditional forms of massage treatment. Each treatment might include:

Heat - The body is kept warm using heated blankets and drapes, and heat directly applied using hot stones that help to warm and soften the tissues.

Sports / Deep Tissue Massage - Deeper strokes, softening and lengthening the tissues.

Trigger Points - A powerful part of treatment, trigger points are super sensitive spots hiding in the soft tissues. These points are often linked to referred patterns of pain and can bring about real relief when treated.

Fascial Release - Almost all of my treatments include some element of fascial release work, easing restrictions in the fascia that are often related to chronic pain and reduced range of movement.

Assisted Stretching - Mobilising and stretching the tissues.

These techniques are combined into a flowing treatment drawing influence from Swedish Massage (Western), Thai Massage and Shiatsu (Eastern).

Movement - Massage Therapy works so well in combination with movement! Together we will usually make a plan for activity between your sessions, this might range from really gentle movement to more challenging stretching and strengthening depending on where you are on your journey.

Assessment and Review - Each session starts with assessment and review ensuring that focus is on achieving our goals - reducing your pain, increasing your ease of movement and improving your quality of life.

Effective treatment in 1 to 6 sessions - This method of Clinical Massage can eliminate or significantly reduce chronic pain in a series of sessions. Depending on your individual story your treatments might be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on how we progress towards your goals.
